About Nizral Solution

Nizral Shampoo is an antifungal used to treat fungal infections such as oral thrush and candidiasis. It contains the active ingredient nizoral.
Nizral Shampoo may be prescribed to treat severe fungal infections that have not cleared up after treatment with creams or ointments, or an oral drug

Nizral Shampoo may cause damage to the liver that could be severe or life threatening. Patients should have regular blood tests before and during treatment to check for liver damage.  If you experience any symptoms of liver damage such as dark urine, jaundice, loss of appetite, nausea, pale stools, unusual fatigue or vomiting contact your doctor immediately.

Nizral Shampoo should be used exactly as prescribed.
You should keep using the shampoo until tests show that your fungal infection is gone. The infection could return if treatment is stopped too soon.

If you miss a dose take the dose as soon as you remember if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next schedule.
Nizral Shampoo should be stored at room temperature out of the reach of children and pets.

Details

Nizral Shampoo is an antifungal used to treat fungal infections such as oral thrush and candidiasis. It contains the active ingredient nizoral. Nizral Shampoo can be prescribed for the treatment of  fungal infections of the skin and nails. It contains Azole an antifungal that works by preventing and stopping the growth of the fungus. It may also be prescribed to treat fungal infections that have not responded to treatment with creams, ointments, or oral drugs.

Your doctor may prescribe Nizral Shampoo for conditions not listed here.

Warnings and Precautions

It is important to talk to your doctor about your medical history and the medications you are taking before using Nizral Shampoo.
Do not use Nizral Shampoo if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients or if you have had an allergic reaction to similar medications.

Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, a heart arrhythmia disorder, Long QT syndrome, or liver disease.
Nizral Shampoo may cause damage to the liver that could be severe or life threatening. Patients should have regular blood tests before and during treatment to check for liver damage.  If you experience any symptoms of liver damage such as dark urine, jaundice, loss of appetite, nausea, pale stools, unusual fatigue or vomiting contact your doctor immediately.

You must use the shampoo for the entire prescribed period, even after all the symptoms have disappeared to prevent the return of the infection.
You should keep using the shampoo until tests show that your fungal infection is gone. The infection could return if treatment is stopped too soon.

It is not known if Nizral Shampoo can harm an unborn baby if used during pregnancy. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant. Nizoral can pass into breast milk and harm a nursing baby. Do not use Nizral Shampoo without discussing the risks with your doctor

  • Voriconazole

Possible Side Effects

There are known side effects associated with Nizoral some of which include nausea and vomiting. In rare cases it may affect the adrenal gland, lower testosterone levels, decrease sperm count
